How the Restoration Began

The current restoration effort grew out of damage caused by Hurricanes Helene and Milton and a broader recognition that the Chapel’s wooded property needed long-term ecological care. Early work included site assessment, invasive-species removal, initial native planting, soil protection, and collaboration with a number of academic, nonprofit, and community partners.
