Schantz Pipe Organ

View of Sista Key Chapel's Organ Pipes

A magnificent Schantz organ, with two-manual and pedal 18-stop, 21-rank instrument was installed in January and February of 2017. The inaugural recital took place on March 7, 2017, by renowned concert organist, Chelsea Chen. On March 19, 2017, the organ was dedicated at the 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. services with the Siesta Key Chapel Choir, Organist, and a brass quintet comprised of the principal brass of the Sarasota Orchestra.

The Schantz Organ Company, founded in 1873, is the largest and oldest American pipe organ builder still under the management of the founding family. Combining his inventive skills with a love of music, A. J. Tschantz (which later became “Schantz) began building pipe organs, first for individual home use, then for churches.

Currently, the company is run by the fourth generation of the family.  The Schantz Organ Company has been in the same facility since 1901, and many changes and additions have been made in order to accommodate the demands of more buildings, including a three-story assembly room in 1993.  The company’s headquarters is in Orrville, Ohio.
