Get to know the Staff at SKC

Dr. Thomas H. Cook,
Interim Pastor

Dr. Cook received his B.A. from Alma College in 1975. He attended Duke University Divinity School and McCormick Theological Seminary for his Master of Divinity and earned his Doctorate from Columbia Theological Seminary. Tom has served four churches (Plymouth, MI;Lake Geneva, WI; Harbor Springs, MI; and Grand Haven, MI) in called/installed positions.

He comes to the Siesta Key Chapel most recently from First Presbyterian Church of Elk Rapids,Michigan, where he served as Interim Pastor from August 2015 until April of this year. Tom and Martha, his wife of 37 years, have two grown children and four grandchildren. Martha's parents,George and Nancy Johnson, owned a condominium on Sites Key and were members of the Chapel.

Tom is a private pilot, an avid fly fisherman, and a fledgling golfer, a sport which he believes was invented by Presbyterians in Scotland as a lesson in humility. He looks forward to serving at the Siesta Key Chapel, where he and his family have worshiped on family vacations for over 25 years.

Cynthia Roberts-Greene, 
Music Director/Organist

Our Music Director/Organist, Cynthia Roberts-Greene, has been directing music and playing the organ at Siesta Key Chapel for nearly twenty years.  Cynthia has been a well-established musician in the Sarasota-Bradenton-Venice area since 1980.  She has composed special music for the Chapel on numerous occasions; most recently our benediction response, We Leave Surrounded by Beauty.

She has concertized throughout the West Coast of Florida as organist, singer, conductor, arranger, and composer. She earned her Master of Music Degree in organ from the Eastman School of Music, where she was a student of late organist and well-known scholar, Russell Saunders.  Her Bachelor of Music degree is from Florida State University.  

While still in high school, she studied locally with Ann Stephenson-Moe.  Cynthia is the former Associate Organist-Choirmaster of Church of the Redeemer, Episcopal and First United Methodist Church of Sarasota.   She has also served as Music Director and Organist at Temple Emanu-El in Sarasota since 1996.

Patricia L. Abdallah,

Patricia was raised in Chesterton, Indiana.  She began her professional career in nearby Michigan City, Indiana after graduating Chesterton High School and attending two years of study at Purdue North Central where she majored in Business Administration and English.  After placing her formal education on hold to have her son Michael, she became both a working mom and homemaker.  Her skills led her into the field of data entry where she excelled in a supervisory roll with a major corporation that manufactured and sold industrial compressors world wide.

In 1983, Patricia, her son, and  husband Ben relocated to Sarasota, Florida where she continued her career path with a large Professional Employer Organization (PEO).  She served as an executive supervisor in payroll administration and client services. In 2000 she left the PEO industry to join the staff at Siesta Key Chapel where she has enjoyed the position as Administrator, originally working with Rev. David Cozad, interim Pastor Marty Hager and now, Pastor Kathleen Wiggins.

Angela Hall,
Financial Secretary

Angela has served as the Chapel's Financial Secretary since February 2006. She is a graduate of the University of South Florida with a Bachelor's degree in Business and an emphasis on Management and Marketing. 

She was born in Sarasota, grew up in Georgia and moved back to Florida in 2004. She and husband David are the proud parents of three adorable little girls: Haiden, Mackenzie and Hadley.

Carole Burkhart,
Parish Nurse

Carole Burkhart is a Registered Nurse (RN) with 50 years of experience.

She is a Graduate of Albert Einstein Medical Center, Philadelphia; took post-graduate training at Hahnamann Medical College in clinical perfusion (ran the heart-lung machine during open heart surgery); attended courses at Villanova in business and psychology.

Carole completed the Faith Community Nurse Preparation Course in 2008 at Georgia Baptist College of Nursing Mercer University.

Scott Penxa,

Scott has been the custodian at Siesta Key Chapel since 2008, when John Miller retired. He had previously worked for 18 years, in a similar position at El Presidente condominium on Siesta Key. We look forward to many years working together at God's Treehouse.

Cliff Menezes

Cliff has been the webmaster for the SKC website since 2005. The site has gone through several redesigns over the years and is currently mobile friendly (responsive).
